Valtos

Taking the trad and electronic music world by storm are current Trad Awards ‘Up and Coming Artist of the Year' Valtos - a duo comprised of Isle of Skye natives Martyn MacDonald and Daniel Docherty.
Fittingly described by Folk Radio UK as “like nothing you have heard before”, the duo is influenced by trailblazers across the electronic and folk music scenes, including Martyn Bennet, Peatbog Faeries, Odesza, Madeon and Bicep.
The band find inspiration in both the traditional and electronic music and the breath-taking beauty of their home. This inspiration not only feeds into their recordings, but also their incredibly energetic live performances where they are joined onstage with a full live band incorporating vocalist, actor and writer Lana Pheutan, Eilidh Cormack of Sian, Project Smok’s Ali Levack and one of Scotland’s top fiddlers Euan McLaughlin. They played their first shows in December 2021, and haven’t stopped since, playing festivals and sold-out shows across the country. They are sure to fill the dancefloors come festival weekend and will predominantly appear on the Friday and Saturday of the Festival (Valtos will not be appearing at the Foys)
