7th May 2009 - Time for bed!

The 29th Shetland Folk Festival is now over and the official countdown for our 30th extravaganza can now begin. This year’s Festival has been truly fantastic so thanks a million to all the artistes (both visiting and local), the Nordic Tone project participants, all our sponsors and funders, all the volunteers, all the accommodation hosts, the brilliant staff at Islesburgh as well as at the Clickimin, Lerwick Legion and Shetland Hotel, all the Community halls we used this year, the lighting and PA folks, Sonny Priest and the Lerwick Boating Club bar staff... and for everyone who purchased tickets! We simply couldn't do this Festival without you.

Sue Wilson has already published a couple of great reviews in The Scotsman and HI-ARTS which give a feel of the 29th party!

Keep an eye on our MySpace site www.myspace.com/shetlandfolkfestival and our photo galleries page on this site as we’ll upload some Festival memories as and when we get them from the photographers!!

Best wishes and see you next year,
Da Committee x
